MA Prize 2011

[deadline: 10/05/2011]
Modern Atlanta, affectionately referred to as MA, is pleased to announce the first annual MA Prize competition. The prize intends to highlight talented designers and their projects each year under a new and interesting theme. This year the prize calls for students and young architects to submit projects that exemplify the rapid development and innovation that is being witnessed in the architecture of Korea. To be eligible the submission may fit into one of the following categories: - 1. Architecture by Korea: Projects designed by a Korean architecture student or designer | - 2. Architecture for Korea: Projects located in Korea designed by designers of any nationality | - 3. Architecture of Korea: Projects inspired by the culture, history or any other aspect of Korea | While the word “architecture” is used, the award is open to design projects of all scales from small urban interventions such as public furniture to large scale projects such as master plans or urban design. The competition aims to highlight projects of all scales, either built or conceptual, that showcase exceptional Korean design talent as well as projects that thoughtfully deal with the unique conditions whether geographical, social, political or cultural, pertaining to Korea. All proposals will be reviewed by an international jury panel and winners will be announced in May. Prize winning entries and honorable mentions will be exhibited at the Korean Pavilion during the Design is Human Week 2011 event to be held from 6th to 12th June 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia.
