London Festival of Architecture 2010
19 giugno - 4 luglio 2010, London
Next year’s London Festival of Architecture is to take place around the theme of “The Welcoming City”. The event will run from June 19 until July 4, 2010, and include a 16-day programme of events highlighting how cities can become increasingly amenable, tolerant and engaging. Now in its fourth incarnation, the festival, which is held every two years, will take place across the capital with three focus areas – Nash Ramblas (Portland Place and Regent Street in the west end), High Street 2012 (Whitechapel, Bow and Stratford in the east) and the Bankside Urban Forest (Southbank and Bankside cultural quarter). It will incorporate the Architecture Student Festival, the Embassies Project, Love Your Street and Open Studios. A host of other events such as talks and exhibitions have also been planned. Organised by New London Architecture, the Architecture Foundation and RIBA London, the event is targeting both national and international visitors, plus politicians and built environment professionals. The 2012 version will be held from June 23 until July 3 – just weeks before the Olympic games – and is planned to highlight London’s architecture to a global audience. Info: www.lfa2010.org
